Robert Metcalfe is Vice President Technology, International Data Group; he is also the founder of 3Com and
the inventor of Ethernet. Bob also writes a
weekly column for InfoWorld.
This is the third or fourth WWW conference at which Bob has given a keynote speech. One year he made some
predictions that he said he would eat his words if they didn't come true. They didn't and he did.
This year he had no words to eat (and I'm afraid I was laughing so
hard, I forgot to take notes!).
