Planning an Escape
April 17, 2000
One last thing: we are going to employ a fullscreen trick after
we finish with the Flash end of this project, so we need to plan
ahead for that. We are going to point the user's browser to a
file called exit.html to exit the presentation, so we need to
add an action to the exit button in frame 1 and then copy it
to frame 2.
- Open the instance properties dialogue for the exit button in
frame 1.
- Click the plus sign to add an action.
- Select Get URL
- Type "exit.html" (without the quotes)in the url field on the
right.
- Click OK and copy the instance to Frame 2. (with the exit button
selected, CTRL-C in frame 1; move to Frame 2 and CTRL - SHIFT - V
to paste in place).
Looks like we're done with Flash part of the project already. Now
we just need to... hold on a second - my phone is ringing...
...That was Bubba. He was calling to check on the project. I told
him about the cool Load Variable stuff and he doesn't like it.
Says he doesn't want to learn any new skills. He said he never
did like Richard Petty and he ain't gonna learn no F-T-P. He
wants us to make it so he can fill out an HTML form in his
browser and the Flash movie updates.
Dammit! It looks like we're going to have to work for the
money!
