This week we're going to look at Buzz.Pro 2.0. A snappy little
graphics plug-in with more bang for the buck.

Buzz.Pro 2.0
BuZZ.Pro works with Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, PhotoDraw, Corel
Photo-Paint, Fireworks 3, and several other leading graphics programs for the
PC and Macintosh platform
The newest version of buZZ.Pro
features 19 plugins that can be used in any number of combinations through
the use of a stack, a selection of effects that the user chooses
from a list to get the desired effect on a photo.
That flexibility makes buZZ.Pro a great tool for experimenting until the
user gets the desired results.
While most graphic plugins involve adding effects to a photo, three of the
primary plugins in buZZ.Pro do the exact opposite - they remove detail.
While this can be done by blurring a photo, buZZ.Pro does this without
taking away colors, shapes, edging, or quality. Users can then apply any of
the remaining filters to further manipulate the photo.
With most of the filters, slider bars are available to
determine the degree to which the filter is applied, offering a myriad of
effects at the various levels of application.
Below are the before and after views of a photo that has only the
simplification filters applied.
Other filters available are Blur; Blur More; Bright/Contrast;
Directional Blur; Edges Color; Edges Mono; Emboss; Gaussian Blur; Pure
Color; Radial Blur; Radial Screen; Radial Simplifier; Simplifier HSV;
Spread Black; Spread White; and Unsharp Mask.
BuZZ.Pro also offers 13 predetermined stacks (similar to presets that
many programs offer), any of which can be loaded and altered as wished.
If there is a knock on buZZ.Pro 2.0, it may be the price — £89.95 (about
$127 U.S. at current conversion rates) - but for those needing these
particular types of effects, it could be well worth it.
There are a lot of filters floating around the internet that can provide
similar effects to those offered by buZZ.Pro, but the ease of use and control
offered with this program is hard to beat. For the casual user, the price may
be a bit steep, but for those who need it for their jobs, it is worth strong
consideration.
