Mailing List Software
Mailing list software allows for the creation of EMail distribution lists.
A distrubution list is a group of Email addresses that will receive an Email
when it is posted to the distribution list. Individuals can become subscribers
to a distribution list simply by sending a formatted Email message to a specified
Email address for that distribution list. Subscribers can also easily remove
themselves from these lists.
Email distribution lists facilitate Email discussion groups by routing Email
messages to all members in the group either as they are posted or in batches once a day,
called digests. There are thousands of Email distribution lists focusing on as many topics.
These special interest group mailing lists can be defined as private, public or moderated
lists.
The WDVL sponsors a mailing list for the discussion of
the technical and practical aspects of web development. Novices and experts alike
are welcome.
